Vernal Equinox

Photobucket

Today is the first day of Spring !

Near our home, there is a hillside

that will soon be alive with blooms.

It stretches up from the frontage road, near the freeway on-ramp.

Most of the wonder of this hillside goes unnoticed

by the drivers rushing by.

One day, last Spring,

I stopped my car

and hiked up the hill,

camera in hand.

Within an area the size of my bedroom,

I found 10 varieties of wildflowers

Nothing, and I mean nothing,

that I could paint, sculpt, or design

could ever draw near to the majesty

of Our Father's most insignificant creations.

It's like I got a little glimpse of Heaven.

A field of flowers ... a gift from heaven. What a an uplifting joy for you to see. Thanks for taking the time to stop and take pictures. Thanks for giving me the hope of spring! Everything is covered with snow where I am. I love love love flowers! It's a big reason why I learned floral design. ... Enjoy your spring!

have you ever been to the wildflower farm? it's on that same road out of fredericksburg that you take to go to luckenbach. (p.s. my welcome to spring was a drive in the pouring rain and hail this morning. my shoes and socks are still wet about six hours later)

I love wildflowers! That field you're talking about does always have natural beauty, and I love the cows/longhorns there too. I'm welcoming spring in 29 degree weather that is donning ice, snow and wind! Betcha wish you were here :-)

Those are very pretty pictures. Makes me want for spring time. Britt, it's in the mid 30's here tonight. I'm freezing.
But it will be hot soon enough.

About Me

My photo
I married my high school sweetheart 34 years ago in the LDS Temple. I have 4 children (3 married, and a 14 year old) and 6 grandchildren. I lived my entire life in California, until 6 years ago. I now reside in San Antonio, Texas. The most important thing to me is my family; I have invested the most in them and it has paid great dividends. I love doing anything creative that beautifies my surroundings and I love nature. I minored in Art and majored in Interior Design at BYU, yet, my profession is a Tax Preparer.
