early this morning, it was misty......and chilly
we put the quilt back on the bed for the first time since last winter.
so snuggly.
i want to stay in this spot all day and drink hot cocoa

That old cocoa pot brought back many good memories...hot cocoa every morning for breakfast. Hot cocoa around the campfire when camping at Barton Flats and Summer Dale. I love that it is still being used.

wow!..that cocoa pot is still fulfilling its cocoa duties, amazing!...humm,I guess we need to turn the AC on and make a pot cocoa, yum!
Mom and LaRee, Steve makes his special cocoa recipe in that pot, he says it is your recipe, Mom. Maybe you guys know how it got that dent in the bottom of it...you can see it in the picture.

I think the dent happened on one of the later camping trips. Dad said it happened when Joel Melton climed a tree and knocked a limb down on top of our stuff. Mom
I agree, great picture. Please share the recipe, my dad didn't pass that one on.
Also, what color is the paint on your walls in that picture? I'm still on the hunt for the perfect color (colors) for our house!
Miss Michele - I don't even know the recipe, it is in Steve's head, so I made him write it down for posterity:
Lois Freeman Cocoa
-whisk 1/2 cup water, 3T powdered cocoa, 6T sugar, dash of salt & cinnamon, bring to boil.
-add 3 1/2 cups water, 1 can evaporated milk, 1t vanilla - makes 5 1/2 cups
-interestingly enough, the color of our bedroom is exactly the color of powdered Hershey's Cocoa. Made by Monarch Paints, base MK 6633, color 418-6.
that is 1/2 recipe...double fills that old cocoa pot to the brim, which we needed for 7 people. Mom
Yum.....can't wait to try it.
Now if the temperature here would just drop below 100........
