A Fond Farewell

was bid for dad Freeman

Photobucket

The service, as is customary at LDS funerals, focused on his life of faith, service, laughter and integrity, and on the next step in his eternal journey. When deep loss is felt, the eternal perspective brings hope and uplifts the spirit. It will be hard to wait, but I know I will see dad again, and as so many have said, the best way to bide the time is to honor his life and legacy by living the best life I can.

His sons Robert, Steven, Ralph and Donald, gave the Eulogy; each sharing touching and humorous stories and honoring the man that contributed most to who they are.

The military performed a dramatic ceremony for a hero that included a 21 gun salute and flag fold.

I love these pictures, Momma. It would have been kinda cool to take that family pic with just us kids... although I do love having my hubby by my side... it just would have been a nice shot to have as well :-)

I was especially touched a the photo of the pallbearers....all of those little boys I knew now grown up. Such a beautiful, respectful photo. I also loved the shots of the military...so touching.

About Me

My photo
I married my high school sweetheart 34 years ago in the LDS Temple. I have 4 children (3 married, and a 14 year old) and 6 grandchildren. I lived my entire life in California, until 6 years ago. I now reside in San Antonio, Texas. The most important thing to me is my family; I have invested the most in them and it has paid great dividends. I love doing anything creative that beautifies my surroundings and I love nature. I minored in Art and majored in Interior Design at BYU, yet, my profession is a Tax Preparer.
